MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To remove folding noise by switching a pass band for an input analog in accordance with a sampling frequency and also switching a pass band for a D/A converted analog signal. CONSTITUTION:A system control circuit 14 supplies a switching signal fixed in accordance with the sampling frequency by a sampling frequency specifying signal supplied from a key switch 15 to changeover switch circuits S1, S2 and buffer amplifiers 5, 6 as their gain switching signal. Even if the sampling frequency is changed, no folding noise is generated and the difference of losses among low pass filters (LPFs) 3-1-3-3 and among LPFs 4-1-4-3 is compensated. When receiving a control signal from a system control circuit 14 and an output from a master oscillator 16, a tape travelling reference signal generating circuit 18 supplies a tape travelling reference signal having frequency proportional to the sampling frequency to a magnetic head 40-18.
