Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:The titled polymer capable of forming films or fibers excellent in mechanical properties and heat resistance, mainly consisting of repeating bonds comprising ester linkages formed from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid of a specified structure and an aromatic dihydroxy compound component of a specified structure. CONSTITUTION:A linear fully aromatic polyester mainly consisting of repeating bonds comprising ester linkages formed from a phenoxyterephthalic acid component and an aromatic dihydroxy compound component in which the two OH groups bonded to an aromatic nucleus have chain extendability in opposite directions and lie in the same axis or parallel axes (e.g., hydroquinone). This fully aromatic polyester is featured in that its intrinsic viscosity is 1.0 or above and the melt viscosity (shear rate gamma=100sec) at 380 deg.C of a mixture containing 60pts.wt. above ester and 40pts.wt. 4,4'-bis(p-phenylphenoxy)diphenyl sulfone is at least 1,000P. This composition can be used in the production of films for metallized films, flexible printed circuit films, magnetic tape films, or rubber-reinforcing fibers. |
