Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the fuel feed response of a two-intake-port engine, the cross-sectional area of the intake passage of which is increased or decreased depending on the operating condition of the engine, by disposing a fuel injection valve downstream to a control valve for the common intake passage but upstream to a branching portion. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second intake ports 4, 5 of almost the same diameter are opened into the combustion chamber 2 of each cylinder 1 of an engine, almost symmetrically to each other with regard to the width-direction center line l of the cylinder block. An intake is supplied from a common intake passage 7 to the intake ports 4, 5. The intake passage 7 is gradually branched in the cylinder head and divided into two portions by a partition wall 9 in front of the intake ports 4, 5. The upstream open end 13a of an auxiliary intake passage 13, which is connected to the first intake port 4, is located upstream to a shutter valve 12 provided as a control valve for the common intake passage 7. A fuel injection valve 18 is provided on the ceiling of the intake passage 7 slightly downstream to the shutter valve 12 but upstream to the branched portion of the intake passage.
