Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To shorten the initial burning time and to reduce noise by forming the surface of heat-resistant filter such as ceramic filter arranged in suction tube into scale or step. CONSTITUTION:A single valve incylinder 4-cycle engine is not provided with a throttle valve but provided with single valve 5 for performing suction/exhaust. A heat-resistant filter 12 such as a ceramic filter is arranged in the suction tube 9 to form the surface of filter 12 into scale or step. Upon heating of said filter 12 by exhaust gas, intake air will counter flow through a port into the cylinder and heated. Consequently, the initial burning time is shortened to reduce noise. While the particles produced in exhaust stroke can be adhered to the surface of filter then blown into the cylinder in suction stroke and burnt again to purify the exhaust gas.
