COOLER FOR STEEL PIPE

PURPOSE:To harden plural pieces of heated steel pipes to steel pipes having excellent quality with good productivity by carrying the steel pipes by means of upper and lower rollers into a roller table and clamping the pipes then dipping the steel pipes into a lower cooling tank and cooling simultaneously the inside and outside surfaces of the steel pipe by the water ejected from nozzles. CONSTITUTION:Plural steel pipes 1 heated to a hardening temp. is conducted onto the lower rollers 6 of a lifting roller table 4 and are conveyed backward by the revolution of said rollers. The pipes are clamped by upper rollers 13 which are lowered by liquid pressure cylinders 16. The table 4 to which the plural pipes 1 are fixed is dipped into the cooling water 101 in a lower cooling tank 100 by a lifting device 3. The inside and outside surfaces of the steel pipes are at the same time forcibly cooled by the cooling water ejected from a nozzle 27 for the inside surface and a nozzle for the outside surface and at the same instant the swirling water flow is formed in the cooling water 101 around the pipes 1 by an annular rotary vane device 35, by which the pipes are quickly cooled and the many steel pipes are hardened at one time. The steel pipes hardened to high quality without bending, etc. are thus produced with good productivity.
