MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent reproducing picture at the special reproduction even with a recording tape of a format having no H arrangement in which horizontal synchronizing signals are in line by discriminating 0.5H skew appearing on the screen, correcting it and also holding a discrimination output for a prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced chrominance signal is fed to a changeover switch SW5 directly or through a 1H delay line 1. Furthermore, a reproduced luminance signal is fed to a synchronizing separator circuit 7, where a horizontal synchronizing signal 7 is separated. The horizontal synchronizing signal is fed to a phase comparator 8, where the signal is compared for the phase with a signal from a voltage controlled oscillator 9. The phase comparator 8 outputs an H level when the phase of the horizontal synchronizing signal is changed. That is, when 0.5H skew is produced before and after the track shift in the revies mode, the output of the phase comparator 8 changes from L to H to detect the arrangement in which the horizontal synchronizing signals are not in line. A switch SW6 is changed over based on a detection signal of said arrangement and as a result, the output signal is switched to the video signal output where the amount of delay of the luminance signal is changed.
