Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the failure occurring in fine cracks in rupturing the trough part of a work by crushing and removing the fine cracks generated on the fractured surface in the trough part of the fork of a blank for a universal joint then forming the fork. CONSTITUTION:The trough part 41 of fork members 4, 4 provided to a blank 1 is crushed and the shear droop part generated in the stage of blanking is pressed and crushed to flatten the trough part. The fine cracks generated on the fractured surface during blanking are thus removed. No cracks are left in the part 41 when a hub member 2 is formed to a cylindrical shape and fork members 4, 4 are bent to the position where the members face each other. The quality of the product is thus improved.
