COOLING METHOD OF BELT WITH BELT TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To prevent deflection and to improve the quality of a casting by subjecting the pressure of a molten material acting to press and deflect belts toward the outside and the pressure of a refrigerant to press and deflect the belts toward the inside to + or - regulation and control so as to make said pressures equal. CONSTITUTION:A molten material 1 such as a molten metal is continuously introduced from a nozzle 2 into the space between a pair of belts 3 for endless casting and while the belts 3 are cooled by a refrigerant 70 from the surfaces opposite from the surfaces in contact with the material 1, the molten material is continuously cast. The pressure of the material 1 acting to press and deflect the belts 3 toward the outside and the pressure of the refrigerant 20 acting to press and deflect the belts 3 toward the inside are subjected to regulation and control by the resistance developed by outlet valves and backup fins 60 for refrigerant flow passages for cooling so that the both pressures are maintained equal between the inlet flow passages 51 and outflow flow passages 52 of refrigerant flow passages 70.
