Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To facilitate estimation and visual observation of a target operation conditions by two-dimentionally displaying an engine output condition in responce to the number of engine revolutions in accordance with an engine output characteristic curve in relation to a maximum engine output. CONSTITUTION:A display surface 10 is formed by an assembly of plural display elements 11. The horizontal axis 12 on the display surface represents a number of revolutions while the vertical axis 13 horsepower. The respective display elements 11 are arranged along plural characteristic curves. For example, the display elements 11 composed of fluorescent lamps, etc., arranged on the characteristic curve 14 include a common anode bent similarly with the above described curve, and connected to an anode terminal 16. In addition, grids commonly controlled in the vertical axis 13 direction are provided below respective different anodes, and connected to terminals 17. An upper edge portion 15 on the display surface 10 indicates a characteristic curve corresponding to a maximum output. In addition, the terminal 16 is supplied with power in responce to engine negative pressure, while the terminal 17 supplied in responce to the number of revolutions. Hereby, it is possible to easily grasp engine output conditions while visually observing how much excess horsepower is.
