AUTOMATIC PAPER FEEDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To eliminate the trouble in paper feed independently of the inclination of an original-copy base and the amount of the loaded original-copies by allowing the whole form sheets to be interposed between a paper-feed assisting roller and an original-copy pressing member from the upper and the lower directions until the top edge of the paper sheet reaches a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:An original copy 2 is loaded onto an original-copy base 1 so that the top edge is attached onto a friction plate 5 from a direction 32. In this case, an original-copy pressing member 19 having a weight 20 at one edge part is installed rotatably counterclockwise, having a shaft 20 as fulcrum, and the other edge part 19b is engaged by a beam 21. Therefore, the pressing surface 19c keeps a prescribed gap 22 with respect to the upper surface of the original-copy base 1. A paper feeding roller 3, paper-feed assisting roller 8, and a paper feeding roller 25 are revolved, and at the same time, a solenoid 11 is urged to transfer the roller 8 to an elevation position 8', and then the roller 8 and the pressing member 19 are advanced, keeping the original copy 2 therebetween. When the top edge of the original copy 2 is detected by a detector 28, the solenoid 11 is deenergized, and the roller 8 is restored.
