Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a permselective hollow fiber, by forming a specific composition consisting of cellulose ester, water soluble polyhydric alcohol having plasticizing action to said ester and a specific additive into a hollow fiber while extracting and removing polyhydric alcohol and the additive from said fiber. CONSTITUTION:A composition, which consists of 100pts.wt. of cellulose ester, 60-120pts.wt. of water soluble polyhydric alcohol having plasticizing action to said ester and 45-120% by wt. of polyhydric alcohol of an additive having no plasticizing action to said cellulose ester but having compatibility with said polyhydric alcohol, is prepared and subjected to melt spinning to be formed into a hollow fiber from which polyhydric alcohol and the additive are, in turn, removed by extraction. This porous cellulose ester type hollow fiber has ultrafiltration coefficient of 50-2,000ml/ml.mm.Hg.hr, serum albumin permeability of >60% and the permeation inhibiting ratio of blue dextran with a M.W. of 2,000,000 of >80%.
