Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain titled element suitable to a liquid crystal color television by arranging scanning-side electrodes in triple matrix structure, and coloring polarizing plates or transparent electrodes so that stripes of three primary colors are formed on the scanning-side electrode lines. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower transparent electrode substrates are sealed with a sealing material, liquid crystal is charged, and polarizing plates are arranged outside of the upper and lower transparent electrode substrates. In this case, the scanning-side electrodes C1, C2, and C3 are arranged in the triple matrix structures, and three picture elements 11, 12, and 13 are made to correspond to the scanning-side electrodes C1, C2, and C3. Further, the polarizing plates or transparent electrode substrates are colored so that the stripes of the three primary colors are arranged on the scanning-side lines in such a way that all of the 1st picture elements are in color R, all of the 2nd picture elements 12 are in color G, and all of the 3rd picture elements are in color B, thus obtaining the titled liquid crystal display element. Further, when the polarizing plates are colored, plates having stripes of the three primary colors are used.
