SURFACE FLOATING STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To secure rigidity for a deck and a stanchion as well as to improve an icebreaking effect, by installing a reinforcing member-cum-icebreaking device, which consists in downward, convex semispherical form in externals, in position nearby a coupling part between a stanchion member and a deck member of a surface floating structure. CONSTITUTION:A surface floating structure is constituted of a deck member 1, a buoyant member 2 situated underwater in the more lower part than the former and a stanchion member 3 whose both ends are coupled with the deck member 1 and the buoyant member 2 each. In addition, a reinforcing member-cum-icebreaking member 10 consisting in downward, convex semispherical form in externals is installed in position nearby a coupling part between the stanchion member 3 and the deck member 1. With this constitution, an ice floe 9 can be made to be effectively broken into pieces. And, what is more, sufficient rigidity is securable owing to a downward, convex spherical construction.
