Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To decrease all impurities to a low concn. and to obtain sodium having high purity by providing a refining function part utilizing amorphous carbon and a refining function by a distillation system. CONSTITUTION:When sodium 12 is supplied into a sodium tank 11, alkali element impurities such as potassium, cesium, or the like and halogen element impurities such as iodine, chlorine or the like contained in the sodium are adsorbed selectively by the amorphous carbon in the tank 11. The sodium 12 is then forced via a feed pipe 16 into an evaporator 17 and is filled therein and sodium 18 is heated to about 500 deg.C with a heater 19; at the same time, the inside cover gas is evacuated through an evacuating pipe 23. The evaporated sodium vapor flows through a conduit 20 to a condenser 21 from which the sodium is recovered into a sodium tank 22. Impurities such as calcium, silicon, carbon, etc. having the vapor pressure lower than that of the sodium, remain in the evaporator 17. |
