Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To heat various materials to be heated to a desired temp. with less energy consumption by calculating the distance between the position in a furnace where said materials are conveyed and the burner most adjacently thereto, comparing the value thereof and the region where said burner is assigned to heat and controlling heating of the burner. CONSTITUTION:An empty furnace part 13 is made between the materials 9-1 and 9i which are to be heated and are charged into a furnace 1. The burner 3i most adjacent to the material 9i is known from the conveying distance li of the material 9i from a device 12 for measuring conveying distance and the distance Li from the charging or ejecting port up to the burner 3i in the 1st arithmetic part 15 of a control device 14 for burner. The distance Di from the material 9i up to said burner 3i is calculated. The value of the region where the burner is assigned to heat calculated from the spacing Bi between the adjacent burners and the value of the above-mentioned Di are compared in the 2nd arithmetic part 16. A command signal is outputted to a shut-off valve 6' in accordance with the result of such comparison and the combustion of the burner 3i facing the part 13 is stopped or the opening degree of the valve is decreased.
