PLATEN DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent miscopying due to an original protruded to an area to which copying is imcapable by displaying an area to which copying is capable with an indicating body which is moved forth and back according to the decisions on form size and copy magnification. CONSTITUTION:An operator when starting copying operation operates a form size detector and a magnification selecting device according to copy conditions, such as A4 form size and unmagnification copying. Then, a stepping motor 24 is rotated through a controller by a specific angle as shown by an arrow (x), and indicating bodies 18 and 19 are moved as shown by arrows (y) and (z) up to positions shown by solid lines to indicate the width of a copying area of A4 size. Consequently, the operator places an original on a glass plate 15 within the indicated copying area, and the operation of a start button is only required. Therefore, the operator need not confirm previously whether the original size is proper or not and independently the mount position of the original.
