APPARATUS FOR MEASURING OUTER DIAMETER OF TIRE OF SIDE SURFACE

PURPOSE:To measure the amount of deflection of a tire in the stopped state of a vehicle, by compressing a movable plate to each side surface tire, making the surface of the movable plate agree with the side surface of a checking track, removing the compressing force of the movable plate, and measuring the amount of movement until the movement of the movable plate is stopped. CONSTITUTION:Pressure oil is supplied to a hydraulic pressure cylinder 11, and the surface of a movable plate 9 is made to agree with the side surface checking track 8, while a vehicle is stopped so that side surface tires 6 and 7 correspond to the movable plate 9 of the checking track 8, and the pressure oil in the hydraulic pressure cylinder 11 is discharged through a switching valve. The movable plate 9 is moved to the side of the center of the track and stopped when the loads of the side surface tires becomes zero.
