Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrogen storing alloy having a uniform metallic structure and stable quality by adding >=1 kind of ferroalloy selected from ferroalloys of Zr, Nb and Mo to sponge titanium or scrap titanium and electrolytic iron as starting materials and melting them. CONSTITUTION:A desired amount of ferroalloy of Zr, Nb or Mo is added to sponge titanium contg. about 99.7% Ti as a titanium source and electrolytic iron contg. about 99.8% Fe as an iron source, and they are melted by arc melting or induction heating in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere of Ar or the like to obtain an Fe-Ti-Zr-M alloy (M is Nb and/or Mo) contg. a metallic component such as Zr, Nb or Mo dispersed uniformly in the Fe-Ti matrix.
