DEVICE FOR FOLDING AND HOUSING

PURPOSE:To ensure the folding, bending and housing of a tape to which electronic circuit elements or the like are stuck, by automating the delivery, traversing, folding and housing of the tape as a series of operation. CONSTITUTION:A tape 2 to which diodes or the like are stuck at prescribed intervals is sent out by a folded quantity, without being given any folding line, by a delivery section 3. At the same time, the traversing arm 8 of a traverser 5 is swung about a fulcrum 7 to traverse the tape 2 on a housing jig 10 to place the tape in a roughly folding position. A folding arm 9a or 9b is swung back and forth for about 90 deg. by a rotary shaft 11 synchronously with the traversing of the tape. A folding arm 12 then pushes the tape 2 toward the bottom of the housing jig 10 to bend the tape and fold its already-bent lower portion further. The housing jig 10 is moved down by a motor 16 according as the folded quantity of the tape 2 increases.
