Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To enable automatic and efficient measurement of oxidative stability in relatively short time by oxidizing forcibly fats and oils and measuring automatically and continuously the formed volatile component. CONSTITUTION:Fats and oils A are heated in a vessel 1 and the oxidation of the fats and oils A is accelerated by oxygen or air blown through a gas introducing pipe 5. A washing and drying device 7, a flow rate controlling valve 8 and a flowmeter 9 are provided to the pipe 5. The fats and oils oxidized by hot oxygen produces peroxide which is decomposed to a volatile component such as carbonyl compd. by heat and oxygen. The heated volatile component is conducted through a gas discharge pipe 10 to a hydrogen flame ionization detector 12. The component is ionized by a hydrogen flame and is detected as a change in the current between electrodes 13 inserted into the flame. |
