Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a break in a strip by tracking the tip of the strip to determine the time at which the strip is wound on a tension reel and increasing tension of the strip gradually from the time of winding to a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:The strip 1 that passed the final stand 2 is wound on a tension reel 5 through a bridle roll 3, a shear 4 light projecting and receiving devices 8, 9. At this time, the tip of the strip 1 is detected by said devices 8, 9. And the timing at which the tip of the strip is wound on the tension reel 5 is calculated by a tracking device 14 from the signal and a signal from a pulse generator 7 attached to the bridle roll 3. Tension command 11 is given to a tension controlling device 12 by the signal to control a driving motor 10. Take-up tension of the tension reel 5 is gradually increased from the time of winding of the strip 1 to become a fixed value.
