INFORMATION RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To perform record/reproduction over a wide range of frequency bands and at the same time to control accurate focusing and tracking by using a half mirror which divides the luminous flux reflected by a recording medium into the 1st and 2nd fluxes together with the 1st and 2nd detectors for detection of said two luminous fluxes. CONSTITUTION:The luminous flux reflected by an optical disk 26 is divided into the 1st and 2nd fluxes by a half mirror 28 and detected by the 1st and 2nd detectors 32 and 36 for focusing and tracking respectively which are set independently of each other. The value of the load resistance of the detector 32 can be set at an optimum level for servo purpose since both detectors 32 and 36 are independent of each other. At the same time, the value of the load resistance of the detector 36 can be set at an optimum level for reproduction purpose. Therefore no limitation is given to the frequency band of a reproduced signal. Thus it is possible to obtain a reproduced signal having a wide range of frequency bands with an excellent S/N. At the same time, the accurate focusing and tracking are controlled.
