CONTROLLER OF DISTORTION GENERATING AMOUNT

PURPOSE:To attain effective distortion correction by adjusting at least one of an electric length adjusting device, a phase shifter and a level adjusting device and controlling the distortion of a nonlinear device at an output terminal. CONSTITUTION:A signal from an input terminal 1 is branched into two at a branching device 3, one signal is inputted to a nonlinear device 6, a signal including nonlinear distortion (vector SI+vector DI) is outputted from a terminal 5. On the other hand, a signal branched to a terminal 11 passes through the electric length adjusting device 8, the phase shifter 9 and the level adjusting device 10, then a signal (vector SII+vector DII) is outputted to the output terminal 5 because of nonlinearity of a circulator 7. The absolute value of the vector SI is equal to the absolute value of the vector SII and in adjusting the absolute value of the phase angle between the vectors SI and SII to 180 deg., only the distortion is extracted from a terminal 2. Further, the absolute value of the vector DI is equal to the absolute value of the vector DII, and in adjusting the absolute value of the phase angle between the vectors DI and DII to 180 deg., since only the signal component is extracted from the terminal 2, the nonlinearity of the device 6 is compensated.
