INK DOT PRINTER

PURPOSE:To enable good printing from the point of time immediately after the beginning of printing, by stopping a printing head at the position shifted from a recording medium at the start time of printing and contacting a needle with the stop position to absorb ink. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 7 is stopped at the stop position 4 provided to an ink absorbing apparatus 21 at the start time of printing and a needle 10 is driven by a drive part 8 so as to be contacted with the paper 22 of the ink absorbing apparatus 21. The high density ink 12 held to the leading end part of the needle 10 is absorbed by the paper 22 and, because the paper 22 has high water absorbability, the ink 12 is absorbed certainly and rapidly. When a carriage 6 is moved by a movement apparatus and opposed to recording paper 2, new appropriate ink 12 is supplied to a slit 19 and the ink held to the needle 10 comes to appropriate density and good printing is performed to the recording paper 2 from the point of time immediately after the beginning of printing.
