Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make safe and dependable liquid discrimination possible, by equipping a light transmission body inside a container, such as a tank and the like, and detecting transmission quantity of light and comparing it with a set value corresponding to the quantity per each kind of liquid. CONSTITUTION:Liquid is contained in a tank chamber and a float 9 floats up to interrupts a passage between optical fiber cables 8 constituting a different circuit and this is detected by a circuit 17, enabling a means 9 for liquid discrimination. An output signal of the reference voltage generating circuit 14 is transmitted to a comparing circuit 19 to operate an electricity-light conversion circuit 15 and to generate an incident ray and further, it is introduced in a light transmission body 7 inside a tank chamber through a cable 8, a portion being reflected and other portion refracted into the liquid and the reflected light reaches a reflecting side plane surface of the body 7, a portion being reflected and the other portion reflected into the liquid and after repetition of these operations, the cable 8 at other end receives it as a irradiant beam of light. The irradiant light is received by the light-electricity convertor 16 and calibrated by a circuit after conversion and a comparing circuit 19 compares difference between the value and the reference level of the incident light and a comparison of a set level basing on this discriminate liquid to be displayed outwardly by an output circuit 21.
