COMPOSITION FOR ORAL CAVITY

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for oral cavity, capable of preventing the inactivation of a germicide and exhibiting powerful germicidal effect, by incorporating a germicide selected from a cationic/amphoteric germicides with a nonionic surfactant in the presence of a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral cavity obtained by incorporating one or more germicides selected from a cationic germicide, e.g. chlorhexidine, and/or an amphoteric germicide, e.g. N-alkyldiaminoethylglycine, and a nonionic surfactant, e.g. sucrose ester of a fatty acid, with a compound expressed by formula I [R1 is -(CH2)m- or -CH=CH-; R2 is 1-8C alkyl, alkenyl, etc.; n is an integer 1-3; m is an integer 0-2], e.g. methyl salicylate, a compound expressed by formula II (R3 is 1-3C alkyl; R4 is 1-3C alkyl or propenyl, etc.), e.g. eugenol. The resultant composition is a composition capable of effectively preventing the inactivation of the germicide.
