PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared e.g. by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing cosmomycin (an anthracycline substance) (e.g. Streptomyces cosmosus FERM-P 7074, etc.) in a liquid medium, separating the accumulated cosmomycin, and if necessary, hydrolyzing the product.
