METHOD FOR FIXING LETTER PATTERN

PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply fixing a letter pattern to a thin dial plate for a timepiece without damaging appearance quality, by printing the surface of a dial by foamble ink to form a pattern and holding the letter pattern by said foamable ink. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined plating layer 2 and a film layer 1 are formed to the upper surface of a dial substrate 3 comprising an NS material having a thickness, for example, of 100mum and foamable ink is further used to the upper surface of the film layer 1 by a screen printing method to form two patterns each having a predetermined shape and a thickness, for example, of 20-30mum. Next, diamond cutting treatment and plating treatment are applied to the upper surface of letter pattern 5 with a flange molded from a BS material and, thereafter, the letter pattern 5 is allowed to enter between the patterns formed to the upper surface of the substrate 3. Hereupon, the patterns 4 comprising the foamable ink are dried and foamed, for example, at 80-90 deg.C for 5min and the foamed ink is entangled with the flange part 5a of the letter pattern 5 with the flange and the letter pattern 5 is held from both sides by the foamed ink to be fixed to the substrate 3.
