PURPOSE:A cosmetic, obtained by incorporating benzoguanamine resin particles containing an ultraviolet light absorber with other components, having improved ultraviolet light absorbing effect, good transparent feeling in application to the skin and high safety for the skin. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by incorporating benzoguanamine resin particles (having 0.1-0.5mu, preferably 0.1-0.3mu particle diameter) containing an ultraviolet light absorber, preferably 2,2'-dihydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxybenzophenone or 4-imidazoleacrylic acid, with other components. The cosmetic has improved safety for the skin without direct sticking of the ultraviolet light absorber to the skin. Benzoguanamine resin powder, etc. obtained by reacting 99-65pts.wt. benzoguanamine with 1-35pts.wt. p-toluenesulfonamide and 1.2-3.5mol, based on 1mol total of both, formaldehyde in an aqueous medium, and curing the resultant water-soluble meltable resin while keeping the emulsified state with a protective colloid is used as the benzoguanamine resin powder.
