PRODUCTION OF VERY SMALL-SIZED METALLIC BODY

PURPOSE:To enable mass production of very small-sized metallic bodies having excellent shape accuracy by putting the very small-sized metallic chips which are preliminarily formed to a specified weight into the prescribed shape forming parts of a refractory molding and forming the metallic bodies by heating and melting then cooling the bodies. CONSTITUTION:The molding 1 having recesses 2 formed to an intended shape on the surface is preliminarily prepd. of a refractory material such as carbon or ceramics. A blank material such as noble metal is preliminarily made into metallic chips 8 each having a prescribed very small weight by a suitable means. The chips 8 are supplied by an introducing device 5 into the recesses 2 of the molding 1 conveyed on an endless belt conveyor. The molding 1 passes through the inside of a melting furnace 6 according to the movement of the conveyor 4. The chips 8 are melted and cast into the recesses having the prescribed shape. The molten chips are cooled and solidified by passing through a cooler 7 and are dropped as the very small-shaped metallic bodies 3 having the uniform weight and excellent shape accuracy onto a conveyor 9 from the molding 1 at the end of the conveyor 4.
