Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:The titled composition useful for lens of microscopes and cameras, having improved transparency, good processing characteristics and mechanical properties, containing two kinds of specific structural units in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:20-95wt%, preferably 35-85wt% monomer (e.g., benzyl methacrylate, etc.) shown by the formula I (X is H, CH3, or Cl; Y is CH3, C2H5, n- C3H7, etc.; m=0, 1, or 2; n=0, 1-5), 5-80wt%, preferably 15-65wt% divinylbenzene monomer shown by the formula II (Z and W are H, Cl, or Br), 0.01- 3.0wt% ultraviolet light absorber (e.g., 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone, etc.) and a polymerization initiator are subjected to radical polymerization, to give the desired composition consisting of 20-95wt% structural unit shown by the formula III and 5-80wt% structural unit shown by the formula IV, and having >=30wt%, preferably >=90wt% total amounts of the structural units.
