CHARGE ELECTRODE OF CHARGE CONTROL TYPE MULTIPLE INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To make it possible to retract a charge electrode when an ink jet is turned ON and OFF, and to return the same when a jet state become stable, by moving the charge electrode plate having a slit reaching one end thereof in parallel to the plane formed by a plurality of ink jets. CONSTITUTION:Because an ink jet is disturbed when injection is turned ON, a charge electrode 1 is retracted from a head 5. At the point of time when injection became stable, a plurality of ink jets 6 are passed between slits 4 formed so as to have a width larger than the diameter of an ink column and the charge electrode is moved in parallel to the plane formed by said ink jets 6 until ink jets 6 reach the position in corresponding charging through-holes 2 to perform recording. When injection is turned OFF, the charge electrode is parallelly moved to the direction opposite to that at the ON-time of said charge electrode and injection is stopped after the charge electrode was retracted from the head 5. The contamination of the charge electrode due to the stability of ink injection is prevented and the reliability of a product increases.
