FILTER APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To make it possible to regulate the characteristics of a filter such as fluid resistance, by a simple and inexpensive structure such that the fixing position of a filter member, of which the filtering characteristics are changed by the contact area with a fluid, is changed. CONSTITUTION:A filter member 5, of which the filtering characteristics are changed by the surface area contacted with a fluid, is used to change the fixing position of the filter member 5 to a filter fixing member 6 and the aforementioned surface area is changed to regulate the filtering characteristics. For example, the fixing member 6 is connected to the leading end of the ink supply pipe immersed in ink 8 and the filter member 5 is connected to the end of the ink supply pipe 4 through said fixing member 6 and fixed thereto. The fixing member 6 is formed into a cylindrical pipe shape of which the inner diameter is almost the same to the outer diameter of the ink supply pipe 4 and inlaid with and fixed to the end of the ink supply pipe 4. The inlaying depth can be desirably set within a predetermined range by forming the ink supply pipe 4 and the fixing member 6 into the same cylindrical shape.
