MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To buffer and absorb a transfer to a substrate of a reaction force generated in a voice coil motor at the time of a high speed seek operation of a carriage, by supporting the voice coil motor for driving the carriage having a head, to the substrate through an elastic supporting member and a rotary supporting member. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic disk 4 is driven by a motor and rotated together with a spindle 3, when a positioning command is received from a hast device, a carriage 5 is instructed by a positioning controlling circuit and executes a seek operation accompanied by a reciprocating motion of high speed. In this case, a VCM7 receives a reaction force proportional to an acceleration of the motion of the carriage 5. This reaction force is transferred to a substrate 2. In this case, the VCM7 is installed to the substrate 2 through an elastic supporting member 8 which is elastically deformed freely, and also supported by a rotary supporting member 9. Accordingly, said reaction force is buffered by the elastic supporting member 8, also said buffering is smoothed by a rotational guide of the rotary supporting member 9, and the magnitude of the force transferred to the substrate 2 and a period of a vibration are alleviated remarkably.
