Zusammenfassung:A cup-shaped casing for a self- adjusting hydraulic tappet for an overhead camshaft internal combustion engine comprises a hollow cylindrical outer part (1) closed at one end by an end wall (2) and, disposed concentrically in the outlet part (1), a hollow cylindrical inner part (3) connected in fluid-tight relationship at one end to the bore in the outer part (1) by means of an annular, flat or funnel- shaped, flange part (4). The actual play-compensating assembly (5) is slidably guided in the hollow cylindrical inner part (3). To secure the flange part (4) the latter bears, by way of the end face of its edge facing the end wall (2), against a shoulder (6) in the bore in the outer part (1). A bead (8) bounding a peripheral groove (7) in the outer surface of the outer part (1) is roll- formed to bear against the other end face of edge of the flange part (4).
