STEPLESS SPEED CHANGER FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To improve the power transmission efficiency of the titled speed changer by transmitting a part of a torque not through a fluid. CONSTITUTION:Reference numeral 1 designates an engine, 2 a V-belt type stepless speed changer, 3 a planetary speed changer for changing over forward and backward movements and 4 a split type coupling. At the time of a forward movement, a multiple disc clutch C1 is engaged and a multiple disc brake B1 is released. By these procedures, at the time of transmission in the split type coupling 4, a part of the torque is transmitted to a hollow output shaft 16 from a carrier P1, a planetary gear shaft 16 from a carrier P1, a planetary gear P0 through a ring gear R1, and another part is again transmitted to the carrier P1 via a fluid coupling 5 by the reaction force of the torque transmitted to the ring gear R1, thus the torque circulation being carried out. As a result, the torque transmitted from the ring gear R1 pass through the fluid, and hence loss of power is not generated.
