CONVERTING DEVICE OF HIGH DEFINITION SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To display a high definition picture on a display device in a correct scanning order by adding +1 to the column address signal of a field memory only when video information of an odd field is read out from the field memory. CONSTITUTION:Now, scanning line information (1), (3), (5)... of the first field are written in addresses A1, A2, A3... of a field memory 14 in the second field. First, scanning line information (2) is written in a line memory 16, and simultaneously, the address A1 of a field memory 15 is written. Scanning line information (3) is read out from the address A2 of a field memory 14 and is transferred to a line memory 18. Similarly, scanning line information (5) is transferred from the field memory 14 to a line memory 19 when scanning line information (4) is written in a line memory 17. As the result, scanning line information (2), (3), (4), and (5) are transferred to line memories 16, 18, 17, and 19 respectively, and scanning line information are read out in the correct order.
