Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To warn an operator of fixing defects by generating an alarm signal if the uncut length of a recording medium is made shorter than a prescribed length. CONSTITUTION:After running of a recording medium 6 is stopped temporarily to cut the recording medium 6 in a determined position, counting of a counter 12 is started by a restart signal A obtained through a recording medium ejecting switch which the operator operates for the purpose of running the recording medium 6 again; and when it is detected by a detector 11 that the output of a speedometer 10 exceeds a preliminarily set speed, counting of the counter 12 is terminated. A comparing circuit 13 generates the alarm signal if the time obtained by the counter 12 is shorter than a preliminarily set time.
