REINFORCED POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by incorporating a specific polyester with specific amounts of a reinforcing or filling material, salt of a carboxylic acid or carboxyl group-containing polymer and organic phosphorus compound, having improved low-temperature moldability and mechanical properties, and capable of giving molded articles having improved hue. CONSTITUTION:A reinforced polyester resin composition obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. polyester resin, containing 0.005-1mol%, based on the carboxylic acid component, germanium compound, and having >=0.4 intrinsic viscosity and >=80mol% constituent units consisting of ethylene terephthalate units with (B) 10-140pts.wt. reinforcing or filling material, e.g. glass fibers or mica, (C) 0.05-20pts.wt. sodium or potassium salt of a 7-25C carboxylic acid or carboxyl group-containing polymer and (D) 0.01-5pts.wt. organic phosphorus compound expressed by the formula (R1-R3 are H or alkyl; x and y are 0 or integers 1-3 and x+y=3). Preferably (E) 0.01-2pts.wt. sterically hindered phenol and (F) 0.1-10pts.wt. polyalkylene glycol based compound are used together therewith.
