Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To restore the weldability and mechanical strength of a base metal for cracked austenitic metallic parts and to extend the life of the metallic parts after welding by subjecting said parts to a soln. heat treatment prior to build-up welding. CONSTITUTION:The austenitic metallic parts are subjected to the soln. heat treatment prior to welding the cracked part thereof. The cracked part is thereafter subjected to gouging, then to build-up welding. The weldability and mechanical strength of the metallic base material are restored and the cracked part is satisfactorily repaired, by which the life of the metallic parts is extended.
