TOE VARIABLE DEVICE FOR CAR

PURPOSE:To improve running performance for all car speeds in a titled device of a four-wheel car or the like by detecting car speed and varying, according to the car speed, the variable characteristic that varies the amount of toe of the wheel depending upon the suspension stroke length. CONSTITUTION:The car speed U from a car speed sensor 6 and the information dm of a manual switch 10 are inputted to a control unit 7 and operated and processed (a). The control information (d) expressed by a function including car speed u as a variable is stored in memory (b). This information (d) is applied to an output circuit (c), and subjected to processing such as digital-analog conversion and amplification. A control signal S is issued and sent to actuators 9. As a result of this constitution, a support shaft is displaced according to the car speed data u. In other words, if the car speed is high, the shaft is displaced upward and an understeering characteristic is increased. If the car speed is low, the shaft is displaced downward and the understeering characteristic is decreased. Consequently, running performance can be improved.
