Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To remarkably improve properties such as durability etc. of multi-layer cured build-up areas, by allowing a metal having good wear resistance and penetrability or an org. curing impregnant to penetrate into weld cracks caused after build-up welding. CONSTITUTION:When multi-layer cured build-up welding is conducted on a revolving roll 11, weld cracks 19 are developed on build-up beads 18 formed on the surface of the roll 11. While a truck 21 loaded with a metal having good wear resistance and penetrability or an org. curing impregnant 20 is automatically moved on a guide rail 13 from the back of a submerged arc welding machine 14, the impregnant 20 is allowed to penetrate through a nozzle 22 into the weld cracks, whereby the impregnant 20 is allowed to thoroughly penetrate into the weld cracks of the build-up beads 18 and the cracks are filled with the impregnant. Thus, there is no possibility that cracks will propagate from the build-up cracks to cause peeling of the build-up beads 18.
