IMMOBILIZED FUNGUS BODY

PURPOSE:To obtain immobilized fungus body useful for fertilizing soil and effective for the growth of vegetables by constituting the immobilized fungus body of a gelling substance prepd. from humus sludge or biologically treated waste liquid sludge, microorganisms, culture medium for microorganisms, or water- soluble silicates. CONSTITUTION:Dark and amorphous org. substances in the soil generated by the decomposition of corpses to several stages of decomposition by the effect of microorganisms, settled sludge generated in treated waste liquid treated by trickling filter process or activated sludge process, microorganisms, or culture medium for microorganisms, are mixed, and the mixture is further mixed with water- soluble silicates to cause gelation, and immobilized fungus body is obtd. The water-soluble silicates are those used conventionally for the formation of gel, for example, inorg. silicate, such as potassium silicate, sodium silicate, etc., or org. silicate such as methyl silicate, ethyl silicate, propyl silicate, butyl silicate.
