CUTTING DEVICE FOR RUBBER-COATED STEEL CORD CLOTH

PURPOSE:To enable reliable cutting of a cloth in which steel cord is obliquely buried, by a method wherein a displacement preventing mechanism, which preventing displacement of the cloth under conveyance, is installed up a production line from a cutting device which cuts a rubber-coated steel cord cloth into two or more parts. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-coated steel cord cloth 2, unwound from a stock roll, is fed to a cutting device 5 through plural guide rollers 14 and 15. The cloth is cut in the cutting device into 2 parts on both sides to convey the cut parts by means of a driving means 6, and the cut parts are respectively wound around winding rolls. Since the rubber-coated steel cord cloth 2 has steel cord buried obliquely against a longitudinal direction, the cloth is apt to be displaced sidewardly. In order to prevent the occurrence of such displacement, the positions of the both sides of the cloth 2 are controlled with the aid of guide rollers 6. Further, the upper and the under surface are pressed by means of press rollers 76 and 80, which can vary an angle to the longitudinal direction of the cloth 2, of a displacement preventing mechanism 7. This enables accurate cutting of the cloth 2.
