Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain an Al alloy extrudate having excellent wear resistance, machineability, high-temp. strength and workability by casting a high-silicon Al alloy to a billet and extruding the billet at the specified billet temp., extrusion ram speed and extrusion ratio. CONSTITUTION:A high-silicon Al alloy contg. Si in the hypereutectic region, for example, an alloy consisting of 12-30% Si, 0.3-7.0% Cu and the balance Al is cast to a billet. Such billet is extruded under the conditions of 350-420 deg.C billet temp., 0.03-0.2m/min extrusion ram speed and 10-40 extrusion ratio. A die having about 5-15mm. bearing length is preferably used for the extrusion die. The primary and eutectic Si particles in the casting ingot are thus fined to a desired grain size range and the Al alloy extrudate with which excellent wear resistance, machineability, etc. are assured is obtd. |
