Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare a novel substance, I-2 substance, having excellent antioxidant action, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Penicillium genus. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Penicillium genus and capable of producing the I-2 substance, e.g. Pencillium janthinellum Biourge D-268 (FERM-P No.7142), is culture at about 30 deg.C for about 50-100hr under aerobic condition, and the objective I-2 substance is separated mainly from the cultured product.
