TELEPHONE SET

PURPOSE:To attain ease of index of number by storing a subscriber name and a telephone number from a designated position of a display means provided to a telephone set main body to a storage means and inputting the initial of the subscriber from the display section so as to display the related telephone number. CONSTITUTION:A display device 3 is provided adjacent to a handset 2 of a telephone set main body 1, a selected position 4 on the display device 3 is depressed, an opposite subscriber name and a telephone number are inputted and stored to a storage device 6 by controlling the controller 5. In making a call next, when the initial of the called party, e.g., ''A'', is inputted to the selected position on the display device 3, the subscribers having the initial ''A'' and their telephone numbers appear on the display section 3. If the desired subscriber does not exists in them, the next page is commanded by the selection input device 4. Thus, no telephone directory is required and many pcs. of information is stored.
