INITIALIZING DEVICE OF OPTICAL SYSTEM IN ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To resolve unnaturalness without giving any misunderstanding to an operator by initializing an optical system with the first switch operation after power on. CONSTITUTION:A device waits for depression of a start button or a magnification button after power on. When the start button is depressed, it is discriminated by a photosensor 6 whether a carriage lamp 4 is in the home position or not; and if the lamp 4 is not in the home position, an optical system motor is driven to initialize the optical system, and the copying work is started. In the lamp 4 is in the home position, the copying work is started immediately. When the magnification button is depressed after power on, the similar operation is performed, and the optical system is initialized if the lamp 4 is not in the home position; but if the lamp 4 is in the home position, a lens 11 is moved to set a required magnification, and a prescribed operation is started.
