Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a plasmid containing the gene of a heat-resistant L-alanine dehydrogenase, and capable of giving a thermally stable L-alanine dehydrogenase which keeps the activity for a long period at room temperature. CONSTITUTION:A plasmid having the gene of a heat-resistant L-alanine dehydrogenase. The plasmid can be prepared e.g. by separating the chromosome DNA fraction containing the gene of heat-resistant L-alanine dehydrogenase, digesting the obtained gene and the DNA acting as a vector with a restriction enzyme, and bonding the products with a ligase. The preferable example of the gene of the heat-resistant L-alanine dehydrogenase is the gene of L-alanine dehydrogenase derived from the chromosome DNA of a thermophilic microorganisms, e.g. bacteria belonging to Thermus genus, and especially bacteria belonging to thermophilic Bacillus genus.
