Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducible and reliable result under non-destructive state of a rail as laid by combining a magnetic anisotropy sensor with a demagnetizer to demagnetize a measuring portion and measure the degree of the magnetic anisotropy of a rail to be measured. CONSTITUTION:Since the magnetic anisotropy sensor 1 can be reduced at the size of a part directly fitted to a sample to be measured, the sensor 1 is formed unitedly with a core 2, a coil 3 and a holder 4 of the demagnetizer as a direct measuring part 10. The demagnetizer consisting of the core 2 and the demagnetizing coil 3 is excited by AC and reduces its amplitude gradually. The measuring device is constituted by two parts, i.e. the direct measuring part 10 to be pressed to the rail 5 directly and a measuring circuit part 11 combining a demagnetizer control circuit 7, a measuring circuit 6 in the magnetic anisotropy sensor, etc. The latter circuit part 11 can be controlled consistently from demagnetizing operation to the final output by a microcomputer.
